Phillip Ray Patterson, 83, of Winder, Georgia, entered the presence of His Lord and Savior on May 27, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Ray was born on March 26, 1943, the eldest son of Sam and Evelyn Patterson of Esom Hill, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Brenda Patterson; his brother, Larry Patterson of Auburn; his sons, Darrin Patterson and Dennis (Lynn) Patterson; and his daughter, Melanie (Scott) Moon, all of Winder.

He is also survived by his grandchildren: Sarah Tierney; Justin (Anna Grace) Patterson; Taylor (Hunter) Ivey; Jacob (Bailey) Patterson; Courtney Patterson (Tyler); Ryan Moon; and Ryder Moon; and by his great- grandchildren: Kayden Tierney, Peyton Patterson, Tatum Patterson, Cora Jennings, and Benson Jennings.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bo Patterson and Billy Patterson; his sister, Sue Deems; his sons, Gerald Patterson and Terrell Patterson; and his great-grandson, Wyatt Patterson.

Ray was a faithful Christian man who loved God, his family, and his church family and friends. He served others quietly and faithfully throughout his life and was known for his strength, wisdom, and gentle spirit. A farmer at heart, he loved the land, as well as hunting and fishing.

A celebration of life service will be held at Living Waters Worship Center in Statham, Georgia, on June 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. (430 Bogart Jefferson Road, Statham GA 30666). All are welcome.
